Three Institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences launch a website about the reconstruction of the Hybernská 8 building
The Institute of Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Psychology of the Czech Academy of Science and the Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences have launched a new website www.hybernska8.cz, which will allow the public to continuously monitor the progress of the reconstruction of the historic building at Hybernská 8 in Prague. This listed building from the end of the 19th century is undergoing extensive reconstruction, which began in 2023 after several years of preparation, and is scheduled for completion in early 2027. After the renovation, it will serve the entire Czech Academy of Sciences as a dignified and representative space – it will become a modern centre for science and research and a new base for academic life in the centre of Prague.
The building will provide facilities for the three aforementioned institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences and will offer shared spaces for research, lectures, conferences and other academic or public activities. Hybernská 8 will thus become a meeting place for top scientists and the general public and a symbol of the connection between scientific work and popularization and educational events. The aim is to create a centre for humanities and social science research and to offer this conference and educational centre to other scientific disciplines.
