The collective monograph Science, Occupation, War: 1939–1945 contains 15 contributions dedicated to the issues of the Nazi science policy and its impacts on the occupied countries of Central and Western Europe. Chiefly smaller and middle-sized countries were chosen deliberately so that mutual comparison might be enabled. Strategies and approaches of particular occupation administrations are thematized as well as the importance of individual institutions (e.g. universities) and scientific filed ort he specific position of scientits in exile, the industrial involvement of science or the misuse of science in experiments on humans in the death camp of Auschwitz.
