National minorities in Czechia. Life, traditions, and the present

Antonín Vaishar, Helena Nosková, Petr Bednařík, David Kovařík

The book forms a collection of papers aimed at theoretical and practical aspects of minorities which have been settled or live in the border region of the Czechia (Tachov and Vejprty are mainly mentioned) since1945. There are evaluated personal memories of Slovaks coming from Romanian Transylvania, the German minority is characterized in considering its history and culture, and the special attention is devoted to the documentation of the fate of Jews during the 20th century. The supplement Zimní zvykoslovný kalendářní cyklus (Customary Winter Calendar Cycle) is attached to the book. All five papers reflect the present state of the culture of mentioned minorities in general and detail.
