CfP: Colloquium Carolinum

On Friday, 13 March 2026, the Colloquium Carolinum—a one-day forum for Czech and Slovak Studies organised in cooperation with the Collegium Carolinum, the Ústav pro soudobé dějiny AV ČR (Institute for Contemporary History, Czech Academy of Sciences), and the Historický ústav SAV (Historical Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences)—will take place in Prague.
The Colloquium Carolinum continues, in a refreshed format, the tradition of the Bohemisten-Treffen.
Please submit your project abstracts by 31 January 2026.

CALL FOR PAPERS/EXPOSÉS
All researchers interested in Czech and Slovak topics and their entanglements with Germany, Europe, and the wider world are warmly invited.
• Present your planned or ongoing research in history, linguistics, literary studies, anthropology, cultural studies, sociology, economics and law, geography, theology, and related fields—the community looks forward to discussing your work!
• Introduce academic infrastructure such as research institutions, archives, libraries, funding schemes, editions, and calls for papers.

Presentations may take the form of a standard paper (20 minutes) or a short presentation (2 minutes). Please send a 1–2 page abstract to Václav Rameš (rames@usd.cas.cz). The deadline for longer papers is 31st January 2026; the deadline for short presentations is 28th February 2026.
